"Pope Pius II, of great piety, himself consecrated this Agnus Dei. To you, illustrious Basel, he sends it as a great adornment, and out of the ancient friendship with which he embraces you under his benevolent heart, he has added great graces.
Whoever hastens to this church and, after confessing his transgression, heartily presents his sorrowful sins, will be redeemed and return richly to the beginnings of heaven.
This is granted to you, Basel, by Aeneas, the second Pius. 1460.
