Byzantine Empire, Maurice Tiberius, AV solidus (4.38 g), Ravenna mint, officina P. His facing armoured bust wearing, helmet and pearl diadem, holding globus cruciger/Angel standing facing holding crozier (degenerate Christogram) and globus cruciger.
Sear suggests that the officinal mark "P" may stand for "Prima", i.e. the 1st officina. It has also been mooted that it is an indicational year (see Roma XXI, lot 898, "year 1")
Extremely fine, a few marks, lustrous, a fresh and attractive coin. Rare.
