Obverse: M AVR ANTON CAES PONTIF. Bare headed, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: SECVRITAS PERPERTVA. Minerva standing left, holding spear and resting right hand on shield.
Scarce coin, one of the earliest issues in the name of Antoninus "Caracalla", before his proclamation as Augustus in 198, reason because appears designated as Caesar (CAES) in the coin and represented with bare head without the "laurea", the symbol of the Augusti. In fact, this coin was issued to introduce Caracalla to the roman people.
EF condition, conserving full details in both sides. Superb bust of Caracalla. Quality silver.
